The 90-Second Newbery Film Festival is coming to the Dryden Theater at the George Eastman Museum on Saturday, April 20!

What is the 90-Second Newbery Film Festival? Glad you asked…

*****

The 90-Second Newbery Film Festival is an annual video contest in which young filmmakers create weird short movies that tell the entire stories of Newbery-winning books in about 90 seconds.

Who can make movies for this film festival? Anyone under 18, and adult help is perfectly OK … in fact, it’s encouraged!

James Kennedy will host this year’s event alongside Bruce Coville (the author of more than 100 books, including My Teacher Is An Alien) and they need your films!

If you’re a filmmaker under 18, you can submit your short film at 90SecondNewbery.com and it could be featured at the Rochester screening. Submissions are due by March 8.

More information about submissions and the full set of rules can found on their About the Contest page.
