The Irondequoit Public Library is currently seeking volunteers to fill a vacancy on the Library Board of Trustee’s Finance Committee.

As a working committee, candidates will be expected to participate in monthly meetings, attend occasional Library Board meetings, and additional meetings as required. The Finance Committee typically meets via Zoom on the second Thursday of the month at 4:00 PM. General responsibilities include:

— Duty of care
— Fiscal management
— Review library budget and expenses on a monthly basis
— Assist in the preparation of the library’s annual budget for consideration by Library Board and Town Board

The Irondequoit Public Library is particularly interested in recruiting candidates with a background in municipal, nonprofit, or corporate finance and budgeting. Ideal candidates are:

— Active library users
— Able to work together with other Library Trustees, community stakeholders, and library employees in the spirit of collaboration
— Involved in other impactful activities in the community
— Familiar with Microsoft Excel, basic financial, and/or accounting practices
