Four Shillings Short, a Celtic folk duo featuring Aodh Og O’Tuama and Christy Martin, will join us at the library on Monday, August 7, for two completely different concerts.

Around the World in 30 Instruments

Four Shillings Short will perform traditional music from Ireland, Scotland, England, Europe, the Americas, and India in Around the World in 30 Instruments. Enjoy hearing the sounds of the hammered dulcimer, mandolin, mandola, bouzouki, Medieval and Renaissance woodwinds, recorders, tinwhistles, banjo, North Indian Sitar, bowed Psaltery, the Charango from Bolivia, Bodhran, Doumbek, and Spoons! The performers will also share background about each of the instruments before performing them.

Celtic, Folk, and World Music is the second concert of the day, and it’ll feature traditional and original music from the Celtic Lands, Medieval and Renaissance Europe, India, and the Americas performed on many instruments, including the hammered dulcimer, mandolin, mandola, bouzouki, Medieval and Renaissance woodwinds, recorders, tinwhistles, and more!
