The Irondequoit Public Library will host the Ukrainian American Community Foundation this weekend for VR Museum of War: War Up Close, an interactive virtual reality event that showcases the devastation caused by the war in Ukraine and the resiliency of the Ukrainian people.

Attendees will have an opportunity to use a virtual reality headset to view 360° panoramic photographs, drone footage, and 3D models depicting the destruction caused by the Russo-Ukrainian War in cities like Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv.

Photojournalist Mykola Omelchenko will give an in-person presentation on this project, as well as a first-hand account of the war and its impact on the Ukrainian people.

The virtual reality presentation takes 20–25 minutes to view in its entirety, and this drop-in program will be offered during two sessions:

— Friday, October 6, from 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM
— Saturday, October 7, from 10:30 AM – 1:00 PM

More information about the War Up Close project can be found on their official website.
