OACES, the Office of Adult Career and Educational Services, will be offering an English for Speakers of Other Languages Class at the library beginning on Thursday, September 5, at 5:00 PM.

The class will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays and is open to adult students who do not speak English as their first language. Students will participate in classes with a trained instructor and receive assistance in developing their speaking, listening, and writing skills.

Students will learn English through a variety of topics including community, navigating systems, healthcare, daily living, shopping, and more. Students will practice correct English usage through guided practice and will also learn basic grammar and writing.

To register, students should bring two forms of ID to a class. And don’t worry if you miss the first class. You can register to become a student on any Tuesday or Thursday.

If you would like more information, you can contact Mark Davis at the OACES office at 585-262-8000 (x2181).
