The Rochester Parkinson Network will welcome Dr. Nami Shah, a Movement Disorders Fellow at URMC, to the library on Saturday, May 17, at 11:00 AM.

PD-101 With Dr. Nami Shah will provide a brief overview of the causes and prevalence of Parkinson’s Disease, common symptoms, and treatments. She will also dispel common myths about Parkinson’s Disease, as well as discuss the role of exercise, medications and advanced therapies in the treatment of the disease.

A study published in March 2025 estimates that the worldwide prevalence of Parkinson’s Disease will swell from 11 million to 25 million by 2050. It is the fastest growing neurological disease in the world.  Come learn about possible causes, symptoms, therapies, the value of exercise, and dispel the myths around this devastating disease.
