Did you know that the Rochester Red Wings are the oldest continuously-operating Minor League team in all of baseball? Well, they are! But the history of baseball in Rochester goes back even further than that, and we’ll be able to learn more about it during Irondequoit Historical Society Presents Rochester Baseball History and the Early Game.

The Irondequoit Historical Society will welcome Joe Territo, the founder of the Rochester Baseball Historical Society, to the library on Thursday, May 7, at 7:00 PM. Joe will teach us about the evolution of the American Pastime, and the unique role the Town of Irondequoit played in the sport’s local growth.

Joe has a long history with the sport of baseball. He is the Senior Team Photographer for the Rochester Red Wings, and he is also a collector of museum-quality baseball artifacts, many of which come from the game’s earliest days in the 19th century.

No registration is required to attend this program, so please join us if you can!
