The Board of the Friends of the Irondequoit Public Library would like to send a huge thank you to all of you who helped make our inaugural Walk Event on May 21st a rousing success! Thank You! to each & every one of you who participated & to those of you who made a kind donation to our effort!
We had 74 registered walkers, which was great for a first time. The day was beyond gorgeous & we were delighted to see the level of enjoyment & enthusiasm that was so evident by everyone who joined us as we celebrated – & connected with the Walk- the two wonderful branches of our one Irondequoit Public Library!
Our most grateful thanks again to the wonderful sponsors who made our Walk possible: Aspen Dental, Anne & Peter Kelderhouse, Sr., Wegmans & the Ukrainian Federal Credit Union, Mirko Pylyshenko & Tamara Denysenko. Also our appreciation for the support of the entire Irondequoit Public Library Staff, the Irondequoit Public Library Board of Trustees, the Irondequoit Ambulance Co., Irondequoit Town Supervisor Mary Joyce D’Aurizio & the Town of Irondequoit. We are exceedingly grateful for everyone’s support! There are many others who are not listed here but we offer our gratitude & thanks to all those who offered your help in so many ways, be it financially, donations of goods or your time. We do have extra t-shirts & string sling bags for sale – $10 for the t-shirt & $5 for the bag or both for $12.00. They will also be available soon through the Library branches & at the Irondequoit Farmers’ Market, as well.

We would also like to invite everyone to join the Friends on Monday, June 6, when the Library Board of Trustees hosts the Library Poster Reception at McGraw branch, from 6pm to 8pm. We’ll be there, along with the Library Board & many leaders in our community and, hopefully, you.
Several months ago, as part of the new branding efforts for the Library, a series of photos were taken of some of our many, many great Library supporters. Those photos were turned into Posters that will be unveiled on June 6th & placed around town as another way to promote our wonderful Library. There will be sample tasting of some of our local food establishments & music to accompany the festivities. This event is open to the community & we hope you’ll bring along your family & friends.
