We’re sure that many of you have seen Antiques Roadshow on PBS. It’s part adventure, part history lesson, and part treasure hunt. This month, the Irondequoit Historical Society will bring their version of the show to the library.

Our guide will be Price Prazar, a retired History and Language Arts teacher from the Rochester City School District. He started collecting antiques when he was 10 years old, and his mentor later encouraged him to study antiques.

Mr. Prazar did his first professional appraisal in 1984 and has been teaching about antiques since 1988. He is also often seen at local antique shows and sales giving verbal appraisals, and he collaborated with WXXI when the Antiques Roadshow came to town in 1998.

Come and have your antique or special treasure appraised by Mr. Prazar at Antique Appraisal with the Irondequoit Historical Society on Thursday, December 1, at 7:00 PM. Everyone is allowed to bring one item they would like to learn more about, but please, no rugs or firearms.
