Kaitlin Roney will talk about Public Art as a Catalyst for Change during the next program from the Irondequoit Art Club’s Artist Lecture Series on Tuesday, October 27, at 7:00 PM.

This talk will focus on the topic of public art and mural painting, and the artist will share information about her upcoming involvement in the Art for Change Initiative taking place in Kajiado West, Kenya. Attendees will learn more about connecting to our local community and available opportunities for artists to get involved in public art.

Kaitlin Roney is a visual artist/muralist located in Rochester, NY.  She has painted many interior and exterior murals in the area and believes that public art has a positive impact on communities.  After working as an art teacher for 16 years, Kaitlin co-founded Art Center of Rochester in 2019. Art Center offers classes, art camps for children, workshops, private parties, figure drawing, and features work by local artists in the gallery. Currently, Kaitlin is working as an art teacher in East Irondequoit, completing commissions, and painting murals. She enjoys being on both sides of the easel, as a figure model and active artist.
