The Irondequoit Art Club’s Artist Lecture Series returns to the library on Tuesday, September 23, at 7:00 PM with a presentation from Maira Friske.
Maria is a graphic designer, art director, educator, illustrator, sculptor, and painter, and she will talk about Bridging Art, Design, and Community.
Maria runs Maria Friske Design, a studio that helps small businesses and associations bring their ideas to life through branding and marketing. Alongside her design practice, Maria is an adjunct professor of Graphic Design at Monroe Community College, where she teaches courses in typography, ideation, and vector graphics. She is also an accomplished painter and mixed-media artist, known for combining acrylic, oil, wood, and steel to create works that explore place, memory, and dimensional form. Her art has been exhibited widely across the Rochester region, including the Memorial Art Gallery, Rochester Contemporary, and The Little Theatre.
More info about Maria’s work can be found on her website.
