The local Willow Domestic Violence Center in Rochester offers free and confidential assistance. You can call their 24/7 Crisis Hotline at (585) 222-7233. If you cannot safely make a call, text (585) 348-7233 or contact WillowCenterNY on Facebook Messenger. They can help you find emergency shelter, create a safety plan, offer phone counseling, refer you to legal and community resources, and offer support while filing an order of protection.
The NYS Domestic and Sexual Violence Hotline offers free counseling by calling 1-800-942-6906, texting LOVEIS to 22522, or chatting online at thehotline.org. You can get help finding safe shelter, creating a safety plan (including a to-go bag with important documents, extra clothing, and medication), and finding services for children. Advocates who understand the criminal justice, family court, and social service systems can help you find the resources you need.
