Librarians across Monroe County are encouraging teens and adults to read the same Young Adult novels by Laurie Halse Anderson, Speak and The Seeds of America Trilogy, and to meet the author during this week’s 9th Annual Greater Rochester Teen Read.

Laurie Halse Anderson will be visiting the Irondequoit Library for a public meet-and-greet this Tuesday, October 16, at 6:30 PM. Teens can enter to win book prizes during the event, and an autograph session will follow the presentation. Refreshments will be also provided.

The Greater Rochester Teen Read is an event focused on encouraging all of the community to read the same book. Many copies of the book, including others by the author, are available at libraries across Monroe County.

The author is also scheduled to appear at the Fairport Public Library (today at 6:30 PM) and at the Central Library (on Wednesday, October 17, at 4:00 PM).
