The Irondequoit Historical Society will welcome Geoffrey Zeiner to the library on Thursday, December 4, at 7:00 PM. Geoffrey is the creator of Gonechester, a popular blog that focuses about the Rochester of yesterday, and his presentation will lead attendees on A Walk Through a Disappeared Downtown using photographs, articles, and primary documents.
Have you ever wondered what came before the buildings that we know about (and what people did within them)? Geoffrey researches and documents the cultural heritage that has been lost in Rochester for his blog and he will share some of those discoveries with you.
During this presentation, he’ll showcase several buildings in downtown Rochester that did not survive to the present. You’ll learn about Main Street as it used to be, as well as what has been lost and what has survived in other parts of the city.
No registration is required to attend this presentation, so please join us if you can!
