The Irondequoit Historical Society will join us at the library on Thursday, March 6, at 7:00 PM, with a unique way to engage nine-year-olds in history lessons.
History Through the Eyes of a 4th Grader will be presented by Ann Esch, a retired 4th grade teacher; Michelle Flood, an elementary teacher, and Dan Reardon, a retired Media Specialist.
Do you know what and how our youngsters are learning in elementary school? Quiz yourself… Do you know who the US President was when the Statue of Liberty was dedicated? What’s the difference between a cobblestone and a boulder? What year was the Erie Canal completed? Mrs. Esch’s class knew the answers.
“Learning is fun!” was a common statement in her classroom. Each year, her students created a multi-image presentation on a variety of topics, and during this program you’ll get the opportunity to view some of their slides and learn how these 4th graders created their videos
We guarantee you will learn something about our history!
No registration is required to attend this program and we hope you’ll be able to join us.
