The Irondequoit Historical Society will return to the library for their next lecture on Thursday, September 4, at 7:00 PM. Jim Dierks, a Trustee of the New York Museum of Transportation, will share his love of The Interurban Era of 100 years ago.

The Interurban Era was a time when high-speed electric trolley cars operated between cities in Western New York. This period not only marked a revolution in comfortable and convenient travel, but also changed where and how we worked, played, and lived. Jim will showcase period photographs from this time period as he takes us on a journey from Rochester to Geneva.

As Trustee of the New York Museum of Transportation, Jim is able to satisfy his love of “big things that move.” A Cornell graduate and a Kodak management retiree, when not at the museum, Jim works on his 1927 Buick and attempts to keep his century-old house in Rochester in good shape.

No registration is required to attend, so please join us if you can!
