The 2025 Rochester International Film Festival will be held at the Dryden Theatre this May. But library patrons will be able to take a look back at some of the favorites from the fest during Movies on a Shoestring Presents Best of the Fest, which will be held at the library on Monday, March 3, at 7:00 PM.
We’ll be showing five short films from the RIFF’s history during this program, and we hope you can make it:

Do You Care About Earth – Clay animation is perfectly suited to the accompanying children’s voices. Kristine literally made her film on the kitchen table. (Kristine Albreche – 1988 – 5 minutes)
Two Meters Distance – During the 2020 pandemic, two neighbors face loneliness and oblivion by themselves. (Maria Dias Megias and Alfonso Rodriguez – 2021 – 8 minutes)
Blue and White – As Ryusuke mourns the death of his wife, he honors her by continuing a traditional craft that he and his wife did together for 40 years. His granddaughter Midori tries to understand his true intentions. (Hiroyuki Nishiyama – 2024 – 27 minutes)
Tin Cans – A quiet boy goes to extreme lengths to communicate with his extremely busy mother. (Chris Edwards – 2014 – 5 minutes)
Glimmer – An enchanting story of a novelist and her infatuation with a mysterious artist’s painting. (Nick DiBella – 1997 – 18 minutes)
