Are you creative? Do you like poetry? Are you interested in growing as a writer or artist? Do you want to connect with kids your age? Join us at the FiSK Writing and Art Workshop, led by the 2024 New York State Youth Poet Laureate, 17-year-old OlaRose Ndubuisi, where you’ll learn how to express yourself positively through writing and art in a fun environment, while learning about scoliosis – a curvature of the spine that can affect adolescents.

OlaRose Ndubuisi is a published author and illustrator of 6 books (poetry and children’s adventure series). Her first book of poetry was published at age 9. OlaRose was diagnosed with severe Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis at age 14, and suffers constant pain from her scoliosis despite surgery. OlaRose says that she uses writing, art, and music to turn her pain into something beautiful and relatable. Visit www.findingscoliosiskindly.org to learn more about OlaRose’s scoliosis advocacy. Follow OlaRose at @olaroseofficial on Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok to stay updated on her poetry, art, and music.

Finding Scoliosis Kindly Writing and Art Workshop will take place on Saturday, December 7 at 3 PM. Tweens and teens ages 10-18 are invited to join! If you would like to attend, please register now through our Event Calendar.
