The Irondequoit Historical Society will welcome Marie Poinan to the library on Thursday, November 10, at 7:00 PM.
Her presentation will introduce attendees to The Port of Rochester and take them on a journey from the headwaters of the Genesee River in Gold, Pennsylvania northward to Lake Ontario. She will also share information about the Charlotte-Genesee Lighthouse and the Port of Rochester Terminal Building.
Marie Poinan is a member of the Greece Historical Society and the Charlotte-Genesee Lighthouse Historical Society, where she creates displays and writes about local history. Along with writing about local places, early in 2022 she co-authored Pioneer Families of the Town of Greece Volume 1, and she is currently working on a second volume to be published next year.
