Why was the Erie Canal built? How did they build it? And what happened to it once the work was done? All these questions and more will be answered in this presentation all about the Basics of the Erie Canal.
Derrick Pratt, the Director of Education and Public Programming at the Erie Canal Museum, will join us at the library on Thursday, July 18, at 3:00 PM to answer all of these questions during this crash course on “Clinton’s Ditch” (so nicknamed for New York Governor DeWitt Clinton, who was a big supporter of the Erie Canal project).
If you’d like to attend this program, please register now through our Event Calendar.
