Food is a basic building block of human life. Where does our food come from? How does it arrive at a place where we can eat it? For people throughout New York state in the 1800s, the answer radically changed when the Erie Canal was completed in 1825 and continued to change dramatically over the next 200 years as the canal itself changed.
Steph Adams is the Interpretation Coordinator at the Erie Canal Museum and they’ll guide you through a presentation all about Erie Eats: The Erie Canal Foodways Project at the library on Thursday, August 15, at 1:00 PM.
If you’d like to attend this program, please register now through our Event Calendar.
