The Irondequoit Library will once again be working with the University of Rochester Medical Center for an eight-week Healthy Living Series.

The program’s second week will be held on Tuesday, February 14, at 3:00 PM with a presentation about Healthy Eating Patterns and Portion Sizes. Each class is aimed at empowering participants to make and maintain changes in diet, physical activity, and exposures. These lifestyle changes lower the risk of cancer and other chronic diseases, while increasing overall health. The curriculum is based on recommendations from the American Institute for Cancer Research, which are used to create evidence-based recommendations for lower cancer risk.

Future classes in the Healthy Living Series will include…

— Nutrition Label Reading and Healthful Smart Shopping (2/21/23)
— Whole Grains, Vegetables, Fruits, and Beans (2/28/23)
— Added Sugars and Sweetened Beverages (3/7/23)
— Protein, Red Meat, and Processed Meats (3/14/23)
— Processed Foods, Fast Foods, and Fat (3/21/23)
— Healthy Behaviors and Lifestyle Choices (3/28/23)

If you’d like to attend any or all of the classes in this series, please register now through our Event Calendar.
