A Death Cafe is a confidential, group-directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives, or themes. The purpose of a Death Cafe is to bring the taboo subject of death out into the open and “to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives.” It is a discussion group rather than grief support or a counselling session.
Volunteer facilitators have been hosting Death Cafes around the world since 2011.
A Death Cafe: Talking About Death, Celebrating Life! will be facilitated by Jennifer Sanfilippo, and it’ll be held at the library on Tuesday, May 13, at 6:00 PM.
If you’d like to attend, please register now through our Event Calendar.
Funding for this program was provided by a Legislative Initiative Funding grant from State Senator Samra Brouk.
