Did you know that less than 200 years ago, most people in the US held the funeral for their deceased loved ones at home? The tasks related to after death care were seen as integral to the grieving process, and still are in many countries today where home funerals remain the norm.

A local expert in hospice care will host a Home Funeral Workshop: Demystifying the Tasks Related to After Death Care on Tuesday, July 2, at 6:00 PM. They’ll talk about tasks related to after death care, as well as how to work with a funeral home to have a meaningful experience that brings the most peace to each individual.

Why people choose to take on some or all tasks of after death care themselves:

— To support their own grief process
— To continue care of their loved one
— To honor their loved one’s preferences
— To save the cost of funeral home services
— Religious or spiritual reasons

If you’d like to attend this workshop, please register now through our Event Calendar.

This workshop is intended as an introduction to after death care possibilities and resources. Participants are responsible for researching relevant laws in their region.
