Hey teens, have you ever wanted to take a pair of scissors to a book? With the Altered Books craft program (for ages 13-18), you’ll get your chance to destroy a perfectly good book while creating a new work of art on Wednesday, April 5, at 3:00 PM!

Laura Jackett will show you how to cut, glue, rip and otherwise desecrate a normal hardcover book with your artmaking. Participants will learn the basics of pop-up and kaleidoscope books for use within their pages. These books may look strange and funny, but they can pack a powerful message.

And if you want, you can bring optional embellishments to use with your art, including drawings or magazine images (up to 4” x 8”), fabric, dried flowers, feathers, ribbons, and anything else you can think of!

Registration is required if you’d like to attend Altered Books. Space is limited, so please register now through our Event Calendar.
