The Irondequoit Library isn’t the only local organization celebrating a big anniversary this year. Did you know the Rochester Red Wings first began playing in the International League in 1912?

Believe it not, the team is even older than that. In fact, they’re the oldest continuously-operating team in all of Minor League Baseball. The team first took the field in 1899, though they were the Rochester Bronchos back then.

Everyone loves a little local trivia, and everyone’s going to love Storytime With the Red Wings, which is happening on Wednesday, July 13, at 10:30 AM.

Several special guests from the team will join us at the library for stories and songs! Perfect for children (ages 2-5) with their caregiver. And as long as we don’t get hit with a rain delay, Storytime With the Red Wings will be held outside on the library lawn.
