New York State’s Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation will join us at the library on Wednesday, July 8, at 7:00 PM to present Changing with the Seasons: The Past, Present, and Future of Phenology.

Throughout the world, for thousands of years, up to this very day, people have been talking about phenology. Phenology is the study of the seasonal timing of an organism’s life history events, such as when cherries are blossoming or cuckoos are migrating. Join this conversation to discover how you can help save species and improve our understanding of climate change by making simple seasonal observations while deepening your connection to nature.

Simple observations can make a big difference, especially here in New York State, where we have phenological observations dating back to the 1800s!

If you’d like to attend this program, please register now through our Event Calendar.
