The Classic Book Discussion Group will read Sylvia Plath’s The Bell Jar for their meeting next month:

BOOK DESCRIPTION: The Bell Jar chronicles the crack-up of Esther Greenwood: young, brilliant, beautiful, and enormously talented individual. Such thorough exploration of the dark and harrowing corners of the psyche – and the profound collective loneliness that modern society has yet to find a solution for – is an extraordinary accomplishment, and has made The Bell Jar a haunting American classic.

An in-person discussion of The Bell Jar will be held on Thursday, February 24, at 3:00 PM. If you’d like to attend, please register now through our Event Calendar.

Copies of The Bell Jar are currently available on our 1st Floor on the Book Discussion Shelf (just behind our New Books). You can also borrow a digital copy as an ebook (through OverDrive/Libby) or as an audiobook (through OverDrive/Libby or Hoopla).
