We wanted to thank everyone who participated in our “Summer Learning Club For Kids and Teens” and “Summer Reading Club For Adults” (and The Friends of the Library and Summit Federal Credit Union for being sponsors)! Both programs came to an end last week, but you got a lot of reading done! Check it out…
Over 600 Kids in Grades K-4 and over 200 Teens in Grades 5-12 signed up for the “Summer Learning Club For Kids and Teens.” Together, they raised $200 for the Pluta Cancer Center!
Adults who participated in the “Summer Reading Club For Adults” voted for their favorite books from PBS’s Great American Read, and the following books scored a perfect 5 out of 5:
The Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer, The Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon, The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett, The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, The Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, Looking For Alaska by John Green, Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White, The Giver by Lois Lowry, The Shack by William P. Young, The Martian by Andy Weir, and The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood.
And even though it’s still ten months away, we can’t wait for the 2019 Summer Reading Club!
